Jessica was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Jessica completed her undergraduate studies at Spelman College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. After gaining some legal experience as a foreclosure paralegal, she continued her pursuit of becoming an attorney by applying and being accepted to Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. She continued to work full-time as a paralegal, while also attending the law school’s rigorous evening program; where she excelled.

Jessica joined her father at The Law Offices of Careton R. Matthews as a civil litigator in November 2019, as an associate attorney. Her practice focuses on personal injury. She is a zealous advocate for plaintiff’s who were injured in motor vehicle crashes, slip and fall incidents, tractor trailer cases, and premises liability disputes. She works tirelessly to obtain policy limits settlements in many of her cases. She is an aggressive litigator who does not hesitate to file suit when necessary, and press insurance companies for maximum payouts on behalf of her injured clients. Having grown up around the law, Attorney Jessica often worked many summers at the law firm as a teen. She fully understands what it takes to obtain a successful outcome. She is admitted to practice before all state and superior courts in Georgia. She is also admitted to practice in the Southern and Northern District Courts of Georgia and the Georgia Supreme Court.

In Jessica’s free time, she loves spending quality time with her husband and young daughter. Jessica is extremely grateful to her family for providing her with unconditional love and support, while she engages in the practice of law.
